Post-natal Reflexology

Portrait of a peaceful baby sleeping in his cradle at homeReflexology during the post-natal period aims to support you as you deal emotionally and physically with the after affects of pregnancy, labour and becoming a mum!

You may think that you just do not have the time or energy to have a reflexology treatment with a newborn baby to look after. But post-natal reflexology can be of huge benefit in supporting you emotionally at a time when your hormone levels drop rapidly, leaving you susceptible to baby blues or depression.

There is also new research to show that reflexology can improve the quality of sleep in post-natal women. More sleep can really improve your sense of wellbeing and help you to feel less overwhelmed by the needs of your new baby.

Your post-natal appointment starts with a consultation during which you will have the opportunity to share the story of your baby’s birth, as well as a chance to discuss any current stresses or worries about your health or wellbeing. Then you get to have a special rebalancing reflexology treatment, designed to help your body and mind relax, recharge and recover from all the changes you have been through.

This reflexology treatment is safe to have as soon as you have been discharged from hospital (even if you have had a Caesarean section), just so long as you have no serious ongoing medical conditions (such as treatment for pre-eclampsia or an infection requiring antibiotics).

The appointment lasts around 1¼ to 1½ hours and you can come along with or without your lovely baby!

So give yourself a bit of much needed ‘me time’ and come along for some reflexology. Both you and your baby will then benefit from your calmer and more relaxed state. Just get in touch to find out more and to book an appointment.
